Olde Federal Building - Current Status
Downtown Augusta suffered severe flooding problems in the December 2023 storm. A few problems still remain as a result of this incident that may impact clients' ability to visit the building at this time:
- The rear wheelchair ramp is currently unavailable. The front wheelchair ramp and elevator are still fully accessible from the front entrance.
- There is still a faint, gas-like smell on the first floor from when the heating system was knocked out by water and repaired. The smell is still also occasionally present in the elevator. The smell is not apparent on the main or second floor where our office is located, but may be of concern to clients with relevant migraine triggers or respiratory concerns.
Thanks for your flexibility!

Welcome to Kennebec Therapeutics!
Massage Therapy in Downtown Augusta
Since 1989, we have been providing individualized therapeutic massage sessions, including a variety of effective massage therapy techniques and Integrative Therapies, with a strong focus on achieving noticeable results. Located in the Olde Federal Building in Downtown Augusta, we serve clients in greater Augusta, Hallowell, and surrounding Central Maine communities.
What to expect
We first discuss your needs and goals for massage therapy. A common goal might be to reconnect with a sense of peace and calm when you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed. This is valuable in supporting the immune system as well as helping to deal successfully with life's challenges, and encouraging other positive changes you may be making. Goals for manual and massage therapy treatments are often relief of acute or chronic pain. We use many advanced and innovative therapies targeting various body systems with the goal of providing longterm resolution of many chronic pain conditions.
For example, our therapists can typically provide recovery from or help with:
Some techniques work directly on muscles and fascia, while others work effectively on the nervous system, and will retrain the body's tendency to overuse certain muscles after injury or postural stress.
Massage therapy techniques may include:
We work with you to formulate a plan, whether it be a one-time massage, or a series of appointments to help you achieve your goals. Techniques used will vary depending on mutual agreement about which massage therapy techniques will be most helpful. We will do our best to help you make real progress on the goals you tell us about, and help you achieve your full potential.
