BETH LABAUGH, BS, LMT
Since 1990, my practice has been devoted exclusively to treating chronic pain, muscle tension, and injuries with a variety of effective massage and bodywork techniques.
My interest in massage evolved gradually due to a childhood injury which led to severe nerve and muscle pain over the next decade. I consulted various health practitioners, but got my best pain relief from deep massage. After receiving my BS in Agronomy, I attended the Downeast School of Massage in 1988, have since attended more than 1200 classroom hours in specialized techniques including Nemerov Technique, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Massage, Structural Bodywork, Mulligan Mobilization, Kineseotaping, Muscle Energy Technique, CranioStructural Integration, Injury Evaluation and Treatment, and others.
My goals include providing long term pain relief by evaluating and eliminating muscle spasm caused by compensating for old and recent injuries, correcting underlying postural and alignment problems, establishing more functional joint and body movement patterns, and giving clients tools to continue their improvement at home. Client education is a major focus. If you can understand what is not working efficiently in your body, and are given a few precise techniques to change that, you can help yourself gradually improve, and even get out of acute pain episodes all by yourself. This helps you feel better physically, but is also helpful in reducing anxiety by reducing dependence on outside help.
I love seeing people who have "tried everything", get back to work, sports, and pain free movement, and ultimately acquire the knowledge and confidence to take care of themselves.

REBECCA RILEY, Structural Integration Practitioner
My education about the human body began with a massage apprenticeship in 1980. In 1996, I studied the Rolf Method of Structural Integration, which has informed my work during 25 years of practice in Montpelier, VT. Now that I have moved to the Lake Country of Maine, I am thrilled to be joining Kennebec Therapeutics, where my interest in helping people thrive through improved physical function fits perfectly.
As a member of the Guild for Structural Integration, I am devoted to the work pioneered by Dr. Ida Rolf, who recognized the cumulative toll of poorly healed injuries, long term strains from work, and postural aberrations on the energy and full functioning of the human body. Structural integration uses a series of interlocking sessions to address restrictions throughout the muscular and skeletal system, and restore the best possible range of movement and function. This series of sessions is a powerful tool for feeling better and correcting imbalances. I have had the pleasure of watching everyone from infants to folks in their 90s benefit tremendously.
Another aspect of my practice is specific work for injuries (whiplash in particular). I find helping patients become familiar with the structures and mechanics of movement can be very helpful.
I have had specialized training in working with scars. The changes that are possible in situations that many of us have assumed are “just how our bodies will be from now on” have fueled my enthusiasm. Scarring from all manner of sources including accidents, surgeries, burns, and radiation treatments all respond by becoming less stiff, closer in color and texture to the surrounding skin, and more capable of movements that the scarring had reduced. Sometimes, nerve function is restored. Whether you have had a skin graft, a C-section, or a crushed finger, elbow, or ankle, the amazement of seeing circulation returning, proper layering of the structures of the skin re-establishing themselves, and the directional lines of movement within the tissue reorienting is an awesome experience! I invite anyone with scar concerns to come for a consultation.

LINETTE MAILHOT, BA, LMT
I'm a 2015 graduate of Spa Tech Institute in Westbrook, ME with a primary focus on injury rehabilitation and pain resolution for my clients, utilizing a variety of manual, neuromuscular and myofascial techniques, as well as other deep tissue, sports massage, and Swedish massage techniques as where needed or requested. I have received additional training to further specialize in hip, knee, foot, and spine rehabilitation, and am additionally performing ongoing training with the Nemerov and Mulligan techniques and scar therapy.
My career originally began with two BA's earned in 2013 from the University of Maine, but after a few years behind a computer screen working in office administration and publishing, I realized I found greater fulfillment connecting with and helping people individually, and sought out a new career in massage therapy. Thanks to an educational background in art, learning anatomy and anatomy-based therapeutic work came to me very easily, and together with my love for helping people, I have found a lot of satisfaction and fulfillment studying and treating chronic pain. I personally understand how deeply stress can affect the human body, both when resulting from chronic pain or from everyday life. My office is a safe and judgment-free space for people from all walks of life, regardless of age, gender, race, body type, and so on.
Please note: As of May 1, 2023, Sheila Ryan has left the practice.
